Calling all BBQ enthusiasts! Do you consider yourself the BEST Pitmaster in town? Have SMOKIN’ BBQ skills that can’t be beat? Or maybe you are just looking for a fun and friendly competition! We have the event for you…Register for Silver Spur Resort’s BBQ Smoke-Off, an IBCA sanctioned event November 22-23! For official rules, visit IBCABBQ.org.
The entry fee is $175 and includes THREE CATEGORIES: Brisket, Chicken & Ribs with an 80% Payout Plus $2,000 Added Money to the top three winners! An optional add-on includes Burnt Ends, Beans & Bloody Mary for an additional $15 (only one winner per category). Trophies will be awarded to winners inside the climate-controlled Barn at the conclusion of the smoke-off Saturday. See the schedule of turn-in times listed below.
Entries include the use of resort amenities…fishing in a stocked pond, outdoor games and more! Golf carts are welcome. BBQ entry fee includes one complimentary RV site, Friday night, at our KOA on-site. Please call us at 903-420-1400 to reserve your spot!
Weekend Music Festival
There is SO much more than a smoke-off planned that weekend! The BBQ competition is part of a larger weekend music festival called Fall Fest, here at Silver Spur Resort. Weekend festivities include all-day music, tons of planned activities, a beer garden, food & more! BBQ participants will be able to enjoy this awesome family-friendly weekend, packed with activities onsite.
Let the kids test their skills, too! Friday, November 22nd, we’ll have a Kids Porkchop Cook-Off for $15 with a 100% payout!
Porkchop turn-in will be 8:00 pm on Friday night. Porkchops can be smoked, grilled, etc but MUST be cooked on wood. Judging will be based on taste, smell, and look. We will donate pork chops to kids if needed. Payout places will depend on the number of entries we get.

Turn-in and judging will take place in the climate-controlled Barn.
6:00pm- Cooks Meeting
8:00pm- Kids Pork Chops
8:30- Bloody Marys
4:00pm- Burnt Ends

Adults should register using the BBQ Cook-Off option below. Once you hit continue, you will see the option to add the bloody mary, burnt ends, and beans to your registration. You may also add the kid’s cook-off option if your child will be participating.
If you are ONLY registering your child for the competition, please choose the Kids Cook-Off Option.
