To celebrate our favorite time of year, we’ve put together an incredible line-up of Halloween events at the Silver Spur Resort! Whether you are staying at our Canton KOA Kampground, or a Canton local looking for fun Halloween events for the whole family, we’ve got you covered!
Family-Friendly Mystery Dinner (October 26th & 30th)
Silver Spur Resort is a popular venue for Murder Mystery Dinners! Over the past year, we have hosted several adult-themed murder mystery parties. This Halloween, we are bringing the fun to the whole family!
Our new Halloween-themed Mystery Dinner, The Thing in the Cellar, is a family-friendly, interactive mystery game. In this 30-minute experience, friendly monsters work together to solve a Halloween mystery. If you have been looking for something different to do with the family, we highly recommend our mystery dinner. All ages can participate in this fun and unique experience; come make some memories!
We are hosting our Mystery Dinner on 2 dates the week of Halloween, October 26th, & 30th. The entire experience will last approximately 2 hours, with 30 minutes of game time and dinner. Want to host your own Murder Mystery Party? We can help! Mystery parties are a fun idea for your next business meeting, family reunion, birthday party, team-building event, holiday party, or other gatherings. We have a variety of adult-themed murder mysteries and family-friendly (non-murder) mysteries that range from short, 30-min games to longer ones that last an hour. The Silver Spur Resort offers two event venues, our large Barn that can accommodate up to 300 people with indoor and outdoor space, and Stagecoach Hall, commonly used for smaller gatherings under 100 guests. We also offer reduced venue rental when you choose the Q & Brew for your catering needs. Contact our team to discuss your party planning needs!
Chuckwagon Experience (October 30th)
If you are looking for a unique Western dinner, right here in Canton, Texas, look no further than our Chuckwagon Experience! Modeled after the chuckwagon dinners of cattle ranchers after a long hard day’s work, this modern experience gives you and your fellow pioneers a taste of the Old West. Catered by our Q & Brew restaurant, with meats smoked slow and low, you will enjoy a BBQ feast served right from our authentic Chuckwagon. Our menu can vary, but typically includes our delicious ribs and chicken, two sides, like our delicious potato salad and cowboy beans, biscuits, and our mouth-watering seasonal cobbler cooked fire-side in one of our dutch ovens. No guest is left hungry after dining at our Chuckwagon Experience!
Silver Spur Resort’s Chuckwagon Experience is held monthly, during Canton’s First Monday Trade Days weekends. Depending on the weekend, we will host the experience on one or two nights. Typically, the event is held outdoors behind the General Store where there is plenty of picnic bench seating, live music from local talent, fire pit, outdoor games, and plenty of room for the kiddos to run around! In the event of rain, the dinner will be moved indoors.
Chuckwagon Experience Details
The next Chuckwagon Experience will be held Halloween weekend, on October 30th from 6:30-8:30. You are in for a real treat, as the Red Dirt Roosters are scheduled to play during this event! Halloween or western-themed costumes are welcomed and encouraged! Tickets are limited to 40 guests, and will sell out! Reserve your Chuckwagon Experience tickets online or call us at 903-420-1400.
Want a private Chuckwagon experience for you and your group? We can make that happen! Why have a regular dinner when you can have a Chuckwagon Dinner! 🤠We can accommodate groups year-round both indoors or outdoors for this special dinner, and can even create a package to include other resort activities and on-site lodging. 2nd Annual Festival of Frights (October 31st)
Halloween is our absolute FAVORITE around here, and we can’t wait to celebrate with you! Load up the whole family in the car, this year’s Festival of Frights will feature a drive throughout Canton KOA! Upon arrival, you’ll follow the designated route through part of the RV park. The experience begins with a drive through our HAUNTED TRAIL, a perfectly spooky way to start the night! Then continue throughout the RV park where our enthusiastic campers will be ready to hear those famous words…TRICK-OR-TREAT! 🎃
Our Haunted Trails and drive through trick-or-treating is free and open to the public! Get here early because we have goodie bags for the first 50 kids to arrive; the Canton KOA team and our weekend campers are ready to treat you!
*PSST: Since you’ll already be dressed up, why not stop by the Escape Room at the Silver Spur Resort?! We have two themed rooms, that are perfect for Halloween. Tickets are normally $25 for general admission and $15 for kids, but on October 31st, everyone gets to play for the kid’s price when you dress in costume! Live Music: Red Dirt Roosters (October 31st)
We like to have fun ’round here, and there’s nothing better than enjoying live music with friends and family. If you haven’t been out to watch the Red Dirt Roosters play at Silver Spur Resort, you’re in for a real treat! This progressive bluegrass band from the red dirt of East Texas is so much fun, you really just have to experience it for yourself!
You don’t have to pay to catch a great show, the Red Dirt Roosters will be set up at the outdoor stage behind the General Store starting at 7:00 pm and admission is free and open to the public! There’s lots of room to spread out while you hang out and enjoy the music. Bring the whole family after dinner at the Q & Brew or when you’re done trick-or-treating through the campground. We promise, you won’t want to miss this show!
