Silver Spur Resort believes in creating a fun, family-friendly environment for all, whether you are visiting us for the weekend, or part of our local Canton community. That’s why our team has been working hard to fill up our event calendar with exciting opportunities to create fun memories with family and friends. Keep reading to find out what’s happening at Silver Spur Resort during the months of February & March! (Yes, we snuck in a half month of events in February, but they are worth it, promise!)
February Events
We may be half-way through February, but there’s still plenty of fun to be had this month! Let’s start with Spring Cleaning. You’re probably thinking, “well that doesn’t sound very fun!” But we beg to differ. If you’re like us, you may already be in cleaning mode, especially after the holidays. Nothing makes us happier than starting off fresh and clutter-free in the new year! If you have items just taking up space that you’ve been meaning to get rid of, why not join us for a community yard sale (this is where the fun comes in)!
The Silver Spur Resort is opening up it’s property to anyone who wants to join us for a HUGE yard sale. We’ve got the space if you’ve got stuff to sell! Not only do yard sales give you the opportunity to collect cash for things you don’t need anymore, but they are also so much fun when you’re amongst friends! Or bring the whole family, and stop by just to shop. You never know what treasures you will find! Come by Silver Spur Resort and say “hi” to our friendly staff!
Our community yard sale will take place on February 21st & 22nd, rain or shine, and we’ll even do the advertising! It’s only $20 a spot for both days, and you must call us to reserve your space.
Live Music at the Q & Brew
Live music returns to the Q & Brew, and we have a great lineup of local talent planned! Our live music nights will run weekly on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 pm, starting February 27th. We’ll mix it up depending on the weather so you may enjoy a nice evening inside the Q & Brew with dinner and music one night, or take it outside if the weather is nice! Stay tuned as we plan more nights with great music…this is only the beginning of events to come!
March Events
It’s hard to believe March is next month already. It feels like New Years was just yesterday, and now we are planning Spring Break! We are ready though. Nothing makes us happier than a resort full of happy campers, and we are excited to welcome spring travelers to Silver Spur/Canton KOA! To get ready for an active month, we have added even more activities to our event calendar, for both kids and adults to enjoy. In addition to our weekly family game nights and live music at the Q & Brew, we hope you will enjoy these new and unique experiences.
Family Game Night
We love making new memories with family and friends, and setting aside time each week to spend with our loved ones is important to us. That’s why we have added Family Game Nights to our calendar of events! We’re all about sharing laughs and having a great time here at the Silver Spur Resort. If you like game nights as much as we do, bring the whole family to the Q & Brew every Sunday from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. We’ll switch it up each week, from trivia nights to charades, family feud to classic card games and more so you’ll never get bored. How does a minute to win it competition sound? Or maybe dominoes is more your style? Our team has tons of fun ideas to keep your whole family entertained!
Game nights start March 1st and run weekly on Sundays from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at the Q & Brew. This is a FREE event and a limited menu & drinks will be available for purchase during game time.
Kids Night Out
Sorry parents, this one is just for the kids! Kid’s Night Out is a monthly event designed with your children in mind. It’s four hours of kid-approved activities, games, food, movies & more! Parents, feel confident that your kids are having a blast and are well taken care of while you enjoy a few (rare) hours to yourself! The price includes games & activities, dinner, movie & popcorn and hosted by our experienced staff.
Kid’s Night Out is designed for kids ages 5 and older from 6-10 pm on select dates. The price is $25 per child and $15 for each additional sibling. Space is limited, register online to secure your child’s spot
Spring Mini-Camps
We are pleased to announce our first Spring Mini-Camps! Our team at Silver Spur has designed two fun day camps to keep your child learning and entertained during spring break. Your kids will not be bored, we promise! Our 2-day fun camp March 11-12, is open to kids ages 7-12 and is jam-packed with games, crafts, and activities with an overnight option. Cooking Camp will focus on basic cooking skills and the importance of food handling safety. Campers will cook & eat their own breakfast, lunch, and snacks, with crafts and games in between. This camp is offered March 17th for ages 7-10 and March 18th for ages 11-14.

Hunting and Fishing
Do your kids love the outdoors as much as ours do? We are offering classic country experiences right here at Silver Spur; hunting and fishing. Kid love to fish in our two stocked ponds here on the resort. It’s one of the most popular activities for resort guests of all ages! Therefore, we thought it would be fun to put together a friendly fishing competition for kids! We are still putting all the details together, but keep an eye on our Facebook page and event calendar for more info. We’re reel-y excited about it (see what we did there?)
Now for the hunting! Spring Turkey season is almost upon us; are you ready? We will be talking Turkey 101 on Saturday, March 21, inside Stagecoach Hall at Silver Spur Resort. This is a beginner’s course to turkey hunting brought to you by Redneck Hoggers and sponsored by NWTF Jakes Program and Muddy Water Outfitters.
This course is designed for ages 9-16, with parent or guardian. We will be raffling off (2) youth turkey hunts at the conclusion of the class. Raffle tickets are $5.00 each. Please register online to reserve your spot.
Murder Mystery Dinner
We are excited to bring back murder mystery dinners at Silver Spur Resort! There are two ways you can participate in our murder mystery dinners: attend one of our quarterly events hosted by Silver Spur, or host your own! We have several venue options for corporate retreats, meetings, and other large events and we’ll plan a murder mystery party just for your group!
Announcing our March dinner, Murder at Mardi Gras! “Governor Inglewood” is hosting a Mardi Gras party at his beautiful mansion, and you’re invited! What should have been a night of dinner, drinks, and dancing, takes a deadly turn as one of the guests is found dead! It’s up to your group to find the clues and answer the question, “whodunnit”?
The cost is $49.99 plus tax per person, which includes dinner and a hosted murder mystery night. This is an interactive experience; be prepared to make new friends! YOU will be the main characters of the night, so get ready to mix & mingle and play your part in a night of mystery you won’t forget.

Paint ‘n Sip
If you missed out on our Valentine’s Day Paint ‘n Sip, don’t worry, our paint parties will now be a monthly event for all to enjoy! Our Paint ‘n Sip is fun for everyone, whether you are looking for a unique way to spend time with your loved one (aka DATE NIGHT!), planning a fun night out with a group of friends, or you just feeling like trying something new! No experience is necessary! We provide everything you need to create your very own canvas masterpiece, and our talented artist will guide you every step of the way. Channel your inner artist, and be prepared to have a great time! Our paint nights are BYOB. Bring your own or stop by the Q & Brew to purchase your craft beer or Red 55 Wine.
